Carbon Steel Knife Care


Carbon steel is reactive. It will take on a patina with use, but don't sweat it! Along with adding unique character, patina will help protect the blade.

  • Keep your knife clean and dry during use, wiping often, to limit staining and rust. This is especially important when cutting acidic foods.

  • NEVER put your knife in the dishwasher!

  • When not in use, rub a small amount of food grade mineral oil on the blade.

Carbon steel knives hold an excellent edge and, with proper care, will last a lifetime.
